I love it when businesses collaborate to offer something unexpected. Take for example the Japanese fast food chain Yoshinoya, which I think has pretty decent food. One day I noticed they were renovating one of their shops not far from RTI, and a month later I was surprised to see it reopen as a Japanese “izakaya”-style restaurant. One of the waitstaff told me that the head of Yoshinoya Taiwan actually collaborated with an izakaya to offer slightly more upscale foods, but at a reasonably cheap price.
Take this beautiful bowl of sashimi on rice, for example. Note the wasabi0-smeared rim! And then think to yourself, how is something like this possibly less than US$10?! Only in Taiwan, I say.
And “only in Taiwan” is true about this restaurant too. Apparently it’s the only one of its kind in the world.
Address: #15 Chang-chun Rd., Taipei (near Chung-shan N. Rd.)
They say they are open til 1pm (but last call is earlier, and best to check before going).
Visit them on Facebook.
