Vegetarian Thursday!
gino | February 3, 2012Shirley and I were talking about vegetarian diets the other day. We both agreed that it’s a good idea to have a sufficient amount of fiber in our diets, and I admitted to her that I often eat way too much meat and I’m not getting the vegetables and fruits I need to stay healthy and energetic. Eventually, we decided that we were going to make every Thursday our vegetarian day.
This idea has been largely successful, even every now and then we forget that today is Thursday, and we accidentally had a slice of ham or some sausage for breakfast. But apart from those mishaps, Shirley and I have been doing pretty well in limiting ourselves to foods that are made of animal corpses as we order dinner from the cafeteria at RTI’s basement.
Over time, our idea gained the support of our fellow RTI English servicemen/women. Every once in a while, Andrew would join us and order cabbage in vinegar and soy sauce, or sometimes Wesley would order pan-fried tofu in Chinese sauce. The three of us would enjoy some exquisite RTI cuisine as we share our thoughts on art, culture, and the meaning of life.
… nah I’m just messing with ya. We hardly ever talk during dinner because we’re too busy stuffing our faces with food, and when we do speak, it’s usually something along the lines of “Don’t you dare touching that tofu with your chopsticks. That tofu MINE!” or “I think I still have room for dessert… Anyone?”
Nah I’m messing with you again.
