Soft Power: Taiwan’s Public Diplomacy

This week, I welcomed Mr. Paul Rockower back to the program. Paul is currently a research fellow at the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy in Taipei. The last time I had him on the show, Paul talked about how gastrodiplomacy – or using food to spread awareness of culture – is getting Taiwan’s name out into the culinary world. On this week’s program, Paul spoke with me about the broader concept of ‘public diplomacy’, and how Taiwan uses it. He also talked about the real meaning of ‘soft power’.
